We present a calculation of the pion and kaon Mellin moment $\langle x^3 \rangle$ extracted directly in lattice QCD using three-derivative local operator. use one ensemble gauge configurations with two degenerate light, strange charm quark ($N_f=2+1+1$) maximally twisted mass fermions clover improvement. Our results are converted to $\overline{\rm MS}$ scheme evolved at scale 2 GeV, three-loop expressions perturbation theory. final \rangle_\pi^{u^+}=0.024(18)_{\rm stat}(2)_{\rm syst}$, \rangle_K^{u^+}=0.035(6)_{\rm stat}(3)_{\rm \rangle_K^{s^+}=0.075(5)_{\rm stat}(1)_{\rm where systematic error uncertainty due excited state contamination. combine lower moments obtain ratios \rangle/\langle x x^2 \rangle$, as well between moments. In addition, we reconstruct $x$-dependence PDFs via 2- 3-parameter fits our results. find reconstruction feasible data favor large falls $(1-x)^2$ for both PDFs. integrate reconstructed extract higher $4\leq n\leq 6$. Kaon B parameter from quenched Lattice QCD

We present results of a large-scale simulation for the Kaon B parameter BK in quenched lattice QCD with the Kogut-Susskind quark action. Calculating BK at 1% statistical accuracy for seven values of lattice spacing in the range a ≈ 0.24 − 0.04 fm on lattices up to 563 × 96, we verify a quadratic a dependence of BK theoretically predicted. Strong indications are found that, with our level of acc...

Progress in Kaon Phenomenology from Lattice QCD

Kaon physics is an area in which lattice QCD can have an important impact in Phenomenology. I review the recent progress and current status of three particular topics: kaon beta-decay, the kaon B-parameter and the non-leptonic decay of the kaon into two pions.

Pion distribution amplitude from lattice QCD.

A method is explained through which a pointwise accurate approximation to the pion's valence-quark distribution amplitude (PDA) may be obtained from a limited number of moments. In connection with the single nontrivial moment accessible in contemporary simulations of lattice-regularized QCD, the method yields a PDA that is a broad concave function whose pointwise form agrees with that predicted...

Deep-inelastic structure functions: Reconstruction from Mellin moments

The precision measurement of structure functions and their scale evolution in deep inelastic scattering [1–3] is of basic importance for testing perturbative QCD. By now, experimental data allows for an accurate determination of the parton distribution functions, which serve as input for numerous other hard scattering processes. Therefore, in particular with respect to the upcoming LHC experime...

Pion and Rho Structure Functions from Lattice QCD

We calculate the lower moments of the deep-inelastic structure functions of the pion and the rho meson on the lattice. Of particular interest to us are the spin-dependent structure functions of the rho. The calculations are done with Wilson fermions and for three values of the quark mass, so that we can perform an extrapolation to the chiral limit.
